The story of Arvest is one of commitment started by our founders, an intense dedication to focusing on the customer above all else. This philosophy has remained the same during our growth from a small bank to a network of community banks able to provide a complete range of financial services.

Staying true to these principles has been the common thread throughout our history. The Arvest story begins with The Bank of Bentonville, which had $3.5 million in deposits when purchased in 1961; followed in 1963 with the acquisition of an even smaller bank in the nearby town of Pea Ridge, Ark. In 1975, another bank was purchased in the neighboring town of Rogers, and for almost a decade afterwards, these banks, each locally managed, were the entire banking network now known as Arvest.

In 1984, the company entered an expansion phase by purchasing First National Bank of Siloam Springs (Ark.). In 1986, it purchased McIlroy Bank & Trust in Fayetteville, Ark. During the next two decades, the bank expanded its presence within its home state and in neighboring states through acquisitions in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. By 2006 the bank was operating more than 200 branches. It had also adopted the name Arvest Bank for all of its community banks and grown assets to more than $7 billion.

Since that time, the bank further expanded, including the Springfield, Mo., and Greater Kansas City markets. Most recently, Arvest acquired Bear State Bank, which introduced the bank to new communities in northeast and southwest Arkansas, southern Missouri and southeast Oklahoma.

Today, Arvest has more than 270 locations that are part of 14 locally managed banks in more than 135 communities. Total assets now exceed $18 billion, and Arvest is the largest bank in Arkansas in terms of deposit market share.

From a small bank in a small town to a regional bank in towns both small and large, Arvest has and will continue to remain true to the principles and practices that have made it successful in order to guide its future. I had to check a star to get to write a post, but I wouldn't give them any stars!! Last month a teller at the drive thru deposited over 2000.00 dollars into someone else account instead of our business account. When I brought this to their attention the girl I spoke to, her name was JESSICA RICHMOND, said that this happens a lot and that the only thing she could do was put some "fake money" into our account so that we would have funds available and that if any thing came in before they got it fixed it would cover it. I checked my account and sure enough she put money into our account but then at midnight it came back out and everything went negative to say the least. I called Monday morning and they said that it was being investigated but that they would return any OD fees. Well to let you all know I call that theft and returning any OD fees that you guys caused wont help me out with the AWD accounts that weren't paid and I had to call them to let them know it was a bank error.

Waited one hour to open an account. They have 6 offices and only one associate to open accounts. Why do you hire people and dont schedule them in until you close. Working one person to open accounts is not right. Im sure she was underpaid. Followup. One month later my son does not have his debit card. We have called customer service 3 times. Finding out no card was ev ever issued but the person said it was first mailed to the wrong address although we have 2 other accounts open..

I don't have a lot of money but the staff treat me GREAT every time. Bravo!
